Goddards & Food

Beer drinking occasions have evolved a long way since the days of a pie and a pint. Next time you instinctively reach for a wine bottle to go with your lunch or dinner, why not try these Goddards ale and food pairings.

We’d also love to hear about recipes you’ve made using our beer. Send them through and we’ll post them on our Twitter and Facebook page with an acknowledgement!

Scrumdiggity food

Scrumdiggity 4.0% ABV

Fish with sauces or batter, blue cheeses and curries. Not having too intense a character means Goddards Scrumdiggity can play a fine supporting role.

Ale of Wight 3.7% ABV (draught) or 4.0% ABV (bottled)

Mediterranean food, pasta, oily dishes. Light citrus-y aromatics and a balanced hoppiness moderate and complement dishes where oil and herbs are staple ingredients.

Ale Wight Food
Fuggle food

Fuggle-Dee-Dum 4.8% ABV

Barbecued meats, hearty casseroles. Fuggle-Dee-Dum's big, bold, rounded character is just the job here.

Duck's Folly 5.2 % ABV

Lighter curries, grilled meats and moderately intense cheeses. The style of Duck's Folly bridges the gap between Fuggle-Dee-Dum and the lighter, lower gravity Special Bitter and Ale of Wight. A higher level of alcohol lends a softer mouth-feel and provides that "iron fist in a velvet glove" robustness.

Ducks food
Wight Squirrel food

Wight Squirrel 4.3% ABV

Easy-drinking Wight Squirrel’s smooth caramel taste goes particularly well with roasted or grilled white meat or fish.
